Vintage Air, San Antonio, TX, to LA Roadsters Show, Pomona, CA
The Vintage Air Tour: From San Antonio to Los Angeles to Pueblo
June will be a very busy month on the AMSOIL/Street Rodder Road Tour. After wrapping up the Fleetwood Country Cruize-in Tour in London, Ontario, Canada the action moves to San Antonio, Texas. The folks at Vintage Air have been Road Tour sponsors for many years and their Tour has annually been the biggest of the season. Last year over seventy vehicles made the trip to the NSRA Rocky Mountain Nationals plus in Pueblo, Colorado. This year Jack Chistenhall and Rick Love from Vintage Air have set their sights on the L.A. Roadster's Father's Day Show in Pomona, California.
On Saturday evening June 11th there will be a get-together for all of the registered participants at Vintage Air's headquarters in San Antonio. At this gathering Trail Boss Rick Love will go over the week's activities and folks will get to meet their fellow participants. Rick always puts together a great week of activities and this year will be no exception. After Sunday morning's driver's meeting it will be a short drive to downtown San Antonio and a visit to the Alamo. Sunday's drive will take us to Alpine, Texas for the evening. On Monday we will have lunch at MSD Ignition Products in El Paso and travel on to Deming, New Mexico for the evening. Tuesday we will get a look at Old West history as we visit Tombstone and the scene of the famous gunfight at the OK Corral. Tuesday evening we will stay in Tucson.
Wednesday the Tour will stop at the Pima Air and Space Museum and then on to Phoenix for the night. The Vintage Air Tour will arrive in the Southern California area Thursday afternoon and visit the NHRA Museum in the late afternoon. Friday we will be traveling into the city of Los Angeles to visit the Petersen Automotive Museum. We have decided to make our trip into LA easier by arranging to have a special tour bus available to take us as a group to the Museum. The small charge will be worth it as we will avoid the stress of driving in the LA traffic. Our tour bus will also make a stop at the Justice Brothers Museum on Friday.
Saturday and Sunday will be spent at the famous LA Roadster's Father's Day Show in Pomona. We will have a special hospitality tent for our headquarters and the show is always amazing with over 700 roadsters in attendance. The huge vendor and swap meet area is always a popular part of the show. The Vintage Air Tour will be a great week of fun on the road. Make plans now to join us.
