On Wednesday evening the Vintage Air Road Tour made a stop in Gadsden, Alabama at Alan Johnson’s Hot Rods. Angie and Alan Johnson invited us to visit their facility, enjoy some food and have an evening of fun. It could not have worked out better. The shop was filled with projects of all different types. Alan and his team have a long list of accomplishments including a Ridler winner for Doug Cooper, a trend setting Barracuda for Bob Johnson, an NSRA give away car and plenty of honors and accolades that attest to their many talents.
Their latest undertaking is an unbelievable Studebaker salt flats car that brook into the 200 mile range on its first trip to Bonneville just three weeks ago. A highlight of the evening was hearing the motor fire up to the delight of the crowd. The live band was great and it was yet another fun evening on the Vintage Air Road Tour. Thanks to Angie and Alan and the Johnson’s Hot Rods Team for inviting us.
