We had one more stop to make before we arrived in Pigeon Forge for the Shades of the Past Hot Rod Round-Up. Our visit to Coker Tire and Honest Charley’s Garage was a homecoming for the 2013 Road Tour ’51 Ford. The Golden Dream custom had been built at Honest Charley’s Garage by Greg Cunningham and the talented to of craftsmen at Honest Charley’s Garage.
We were greeted when we arrived by Corky Coker himself. Corky gave us a brief history of the companies and we posed for a group picture on the steps of Coker Tire. It was then a very short walk to Honest Charley’s Garage where Greg Cunningham greeted the crowd. We got a chance to see Corky’s fantastic collection of autos, motorcycles and even an airplane. We were treated to a great lunch and then made a stop at the retail store of Honest Charley’s Speed Shop.
Our visit in Chattanooga and a chance to see the very expanding family of Coker Tire companies was a perfect way to wrap up our week on the road. Pigeon Forge was just a few hours away and we were anxious to get to the big Shades of the Past show.
